Jupiter Uranus mission complete!

Well, folks, that’s it. My fifteen-year obsession with Jupiter/Uranus conjunctions is over. Time to move on to “pastures new”.

It is my hope that this extensive archive of articles and research will be of interest and value to astrology students and researchers – and their teachers – both now and in years to come. The archive includes a study of the behaviour of those two planets over 2,500 years, and the fascinating correlation which I have found to exist on the macro scale between the movements of  Jupiter/Uranus conjunctions and the unfolding of human history.

I had a faithful group of 10 volunteers from across the world who stayed with the project of reporting the symbolic impact of the 2010-11 Jupiter/Uranus conjunctions on all their lives. Their feedback is to be found in the “Tales from the Wild Ride” series in the archive, along with all their charts, data and names withheld for confidentiality. I am most grateful to them for their participation.

Perhaps it is apt to close on a personal note. What clues are there in my horoscope to this long-running Jupiter/Uranus obsession? Have a look – perhaps the bowl shape led by Uranus/10th, closed by Jupiter/3rd, is a clue? And the Asc/Desc  falling on the Jupiter/Uranus midpoint, maybe?

Anne W’s Horoscope

Quite a number of readers have asked me about MY Jupiter/Uranus year 2010/11: what disruptions and changes have come into my life? I said I would not say anything about my own life until the end of the project.

Given the conjunction sextiling the MC/North Node, and squaring a natal Mars/Uranus conjunction in the 10th, the answer is – quite a few! Firstly, my husband and I have unexpectedly become grandparents, our granddaughter having been conceived during the week of the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Aries in early June 2010.

Secondly, I am off to be a student again in the autumn of 2011, to do a two-year part-time  MSc degree in Counselling Studies at  a distinguished Scottish University. My aim is to update my counselling skills qualifications, and to use the compulsory research module to ground me in more formal and rigorous research methodology than I have employed to date. My aim then is to use the second year’s 15,000 word dissertation to sketch out the basis for my third book. And who knows what else may arise therefrom?

So there it is. Many thanks to all the many readers of this blog, especially those commenters and emailers whose generous encouragement has kept me going at times when I was flagging!

Waiting for Jupiter/Uranus 3 as the old year wanes….

The third and final conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus – at 27 Pisces – takes place on the 4th January 2011. On 22.1.11 , Jupiter re-enters Aries, with Uranus re-entering Aries on 13.3.11. From an applying orb of 10 degrees in March 2010, to the separating orb of 10 degrees in mid March 2011 when Uranus will be at 0 deg Aries and Jupiter 10 deg Aries, it will have been some year, both for our world and for individuals ‘plugged-in’ to the conjunction’s 27 Pisces – 0 Aries “Hot spot”!

Jupiter/Uranus 2010: Collective ‘Tales from the Wild Ride’: Part 10

Our Collective Life

Research Study:Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Aries and Pisces 2010/11

As in Questionnaire One, I decided to conclude Questionnaire Two, covering the period Summer Solstice to Autumnal Equinox 2010, by asking the 10 remaining researchees for any comments they felt like making on our collective life.

Firstly, I asked them  “Did you notice anything significant in your own country/the wider world during this time?”

1 = Very Much So/ 2 = Moderately So/ 3 =  Mildly So/4 = Not at All

Here is their general feedback, using the rating above:

Giorgio (28) : 2
Maria (32): 2
Harry (41): 2
Eve (51): 1
Alicia (53): 2
Kathy (54): 3
Caroline (58): No rating
Louis (60): 4
Fiona  (61): No rating
Barbara (81): 1

**************

I then asked for more detailed comments on this period – “eg was there a key event/development(s) in your own country/the wider world which struck you as highly significant and in tune with the planetary symbolism?”

Here is what they said:

Giorgio (28)

The general atmosphere of upset, disrupt and change continues, albeit to a more subtle degree. This was not so evident now in global affairs as it was during spring 2010. However, significant disruption and change were clearly evident in many people around me. Finally, there were also widespread weather extremes.

Maria (32):

When I got back home, I was trying to sign up for healthcare online.
My payment would not go through, something was wrong with the site.
So, I put it to the side. Weeks later I came across an article
detailing Obama’s Healthcare Bill and that the plan was to go into
effect September 23rd.

As a believer in LOA, I immediately thought to
myself that’s why my payment didn’t go through so I could reap the
benefits of the bill that I wouldn’t have got if I had gotten a plan
prior to the 23rd.

Noticed the bed bug epidemic going on across the
country.

Also, got back home and became aware of some of the ballot
initiatives to be voted on in November.

Read about the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China)
and how they may create their own currency
leaving the dollar in the dust and how Mexico is recovering from the
Recession better and faster than the United States.

All the while
people are going bonkers over Border Patrol and immigration laws.

Harry (41) :

President Obama continued in his struggle to communicate effectively with the American People, the Democrats continued in their struggle to be effective, the Tea Party continued their march toward the Midterm Elections in November, and there seemed to be an increase in people “snapping” and doing harm to others.

In addition, there seemed to be a rise worldwide in plane crashes, hostage situations, bombings, and kidnappings.  The weather here in the States — as well as elsewhere — has been extreme with severe floods, hurricanes, and even a tornado touching down in Brooklyn and ripping up trees and tossing over cars!

Eve(51)

The whole Gulf oil mess was finally resolved.

High Government officials and scientist admit some UFO data can not be explained and is down right “Spooky”.Stephen Hawking’s new book stating “GOD” unnecessary for Grand Design. Alien life out there and you may not want to contact them.

New Zealand earthquake, Pakistan floods, US pulls out of Iraq.

Alicia(53)

The political climate here is rougher than usual.  There seems to be more and more polarization—left against right, Democrats against Republicans.  Extremism is the order of the day, and the so-called Tea Party candidates (extreme right) are gaining ground.  There is a definite movement to oust Obama, probably the most effective and intelligent president we’ve had this century.

It seems as though reason and compromise have gone out the window, which one would expect with a conjunction in Aries.  Political emotions are running high. Jupiter ties to the 9th house and law, and Uranus, regards the collective—I would have expected some progressive legislation to have taken place, but there is none on the horizon.  We’re going backwards.

Aside from that, I’ve been too busy dealing with the fallout of my own Jupiter/Uranus activity to notice what’s going on around me.

Kathy(54)

In news on 21 June: A blast of the brightest X-rays ever detected from beyond our Milky Way galaxy’s neighborhood temporarily blinded the X-ray eye on NASA’s Swift space observatory earlier this summer, astronomers now report. The X-rays traveled through space for 5-billion years before slamming into and overwhelming Swift’s X-ray Telescope on 21 June.

On July 30, there was a massive thunder storm in Finland. It left tens of thousands of Finns without electricity and telephone lines, some for weeks (and we are supposedly living in one of the technologically most advanced countries on earth). The forest fell like tooth picks.

Also the hottest ever summer in Helsinki, the hottest in 70 years country-wide. The heat started with the summer solstice and lasted almost non-stop until mid-August.

Louis(60)

I did wonder  why the great collective is so accepting of the current push by governments to clear debt ….(AW this was followed by some very unflattering comments about the UK coalition government. Not wishing to get arrested, I decided to edit them out! )

Fiona (61)

I usually read the papers faithfully, but in this time period I stopped reading them completely.  I did notice the Chilean miners’ drama and its cheerful resolution.

Barbara(81)

A lot of divisive rhetoric in the US concerning Congress and the upcoming November elections and worldwide unrest due to economic climate.  I don’t know what the answer is, but it is worrisome.

This entire period enriched my life, not always in gentle ways, with themes of value and self worth……. I was challenged to seek a deeper understanding of what I value in myself, others, and in life.

Lunar eclipse at 5 deg Capricorn 26.6.10 – GMT
This eclipse was approaching a conjunction with my natal Chiron, 07.42 Capricorn, in the second house sign in the first triggering familiar, and familial, themes of self-worth and my habit to under value myself.

I had a shocking surprise when a dear friend whom I consider family challenged my self worth and oddly rather than crumbling with self doubt, I accepted our differences about what my time and talent is worth and put forth a very conscious effort NOT to damage our 30 year friendship by challenging her behavior toward me… our friendship has definitely changed, I have become more separate and mature, less in need of her approval or willing to follow her standard of behavior, and I am no longer expecting her unconditional help, something that I assumed would always be a part of my life experience.

A period of sobering realities.

The week of August 5, Venus entering Libra and crossing my 10th/4th natal axis, my relationship with my mother was challenged and rather than getting angry and feeling hurt I accepted her behavior toward me, her not including me in family gatherings, and consciously decided NOT to fight with her or challenge her behavior with me – similar themes with my best friend 2 weeks earlier, the week of July 26 when Saturn opposed Uranus.

I also saw with more realistic eyes the dynamics of my romantic interests with a man who was flirting with me without serious interest…. And again, to accept his behavior and NOT damage our friendship and while the terms of our friendship have changed and we are not in as close communication as before, we have maintained a friendship………

Each of these experiences a maturing passage that has helped me separate from other people’s values and influences upon how I value myself.

Much needed maturing which I feel grateful for.

During this period I have gone back in time, working in a profession I left in 1994. The work is creative but challenging to old habits of feeling hyper responsible for making sure that NOTHING goes wrong which is unrealistic and crazy making…  I have under-valued my contribution and participation in the project, an old pattern needing to be broken, which Uranus transiting my natal 4th promises!

A period of a deepening sense of my worth.

September 19 began a week of horrors that brought a newly found and comforting insight that I prefer NOT to have the responsibility of ownership, enjoy living as a nomad, and that rather than pathologize my choices in life that I need to cultivate a community of like minded souls……. I struggle to understand the hows and wheres of this recent insight but confident that with time I will see a clear path to follow.

My mind and heart pointed toward service and I am currently looking into joining the Peace Corps as a possibility… to be continued.

“Caroline” later sent a ps which I include here:

September 19  Jupiter-Uranus conjunction Rx in Pisces:

I feel liberated from my past. Deepened resolution about living as a nomad without a home or property of my own. I returned to my roots 6 months ago , near the time of the first conjunction, and realized that I do not have the same values as I once had…… I am not interested in having a home or being part of a particular tribe…. in fact, I feel a free spirit in the universe not belonging in one particular place. I have felt alone and isolated most of my life never really fitting into the situations that I was living.
Observing more than participating.
I feel liberated and centered within myself. I have a deepened self-acceptance. I am trying not to compare myself to old standards which have lost value in my life.
I have stopped looking over my shoulder for that elusive someone to save me…….. I am my own savior, Neptune in Aquarius opposing my natal Mercury in Leo, and I feel an inner strength to forge a life that reflects self-honesty. I am interested in meeting others who live as I live; without home or family, comfortable to travel to unfamiliar places, working in service for others.
I am not interested in personal ambition, success, or reward.

At times I feel fear not knowing how to organize my life in this way – it feels very foreign – which is both exciting and terrifying.

Louis(60)

Louis Aged 60

Really nothing of note that might be relevant to me personally – I have a close friend who was diagnosed with cancer of the brain on 24 July. (Saturn entered Libra 22.7.10).

I had a recurrence of a thyroid problem on 5 August but this is not a particularly significant date as set out above

Really very little happening at all – struggling to get work but that’s normal – so having difficulty implementing the dream (haha)

Fiona(61)

Fiona Aged 61

Fiona Aged 61

It’s all been rather cataclysmic.  Among my close friends and relatives I have one with breast cancer in situ.  Another, at whose house my closest friends and I have been meeting to read poetry for 15 years, lost her father, and her job and was forced to move abruptly. I miss this major source of comfort and solace terribly as the replacement venue is not intimate and comforting.

Our co-grandfather (our pregnant grand daughter’s other grand father) had an aortic dissection which proved inoperable at the same time that my daughter’s father started to die.  Our co grand father did survive with medication. My daughter’s father died September 26 leaving his estate in a terrible mess which will cost a fortune in money and acrimony to sort out.

My husband had various health scares as I did myself. In addition to falling off the roof of the house he was working on and getting his truck stuck in a ditch, he had mysterious intestinal troubles requiring a Ct scan that turned out clear.  His disorder responded quickly to antibiotics.  His exact Mercury conjunct Neptune, which rules his chart, is exactly opposite the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction.  Many money shocks and troubles.

I have a dear friend who disappeared and left her husband of 40 years – to my and his distress.  She doesn’t have a birth time sadly, but surely Jupiter and Uranus is involved.  Another very good friend is being sued for $800,00 in an incomprehensible lawsuit.

Now we have an alcoholic nephew who has crashed his truck and broken his back whom we must now arrange care for.  Much family drama about this.

It really seemed like an awful lot of extreme alcoholic drinking took place in this time period some of which led to fatalities.

When Jupiter retrograded on my MC exactly, all my recent clients disappeared immediately , for which I was not sorry, having so much on my plate.

Generally a very Piscean, messy, dramatic, painful time.

August 19, 2010
Annual appointment with GYN doctor…he felt unusual lumps in right breast, the same breast I had a lumpectomy on in 2006.

August 20, 2010 (T Mercury Rx)

About an hour after Mercury Rx, my son ran over a battery in the road with his car.  Not having the money to get it fixed (did not even get an estimate of the damage) and wouldn’t want to under Rx Mercury anyway, his car stayed in the garage and I had to drive him back and forth to work whenever I needed to go somewhere during the day.  A big inconvenience.

August 26, 2010
Started feeling pain in eye tooth.

August 30, 2010
Left eye and cheek swollen. Ulcers acting up due to all the pain medicine I had been taking since Thursday.  Dentist diagnosed abscessed tooth and prescribed antibiotics and strong pain medicine. He recommended having root canal procedure.

August 31, 2010
So sick I had to have my daughter come over and fix my meals. Swelling didn’t go down until Thursday, September 2, 2010 when antibiotics started to take affect.

September 2, 2010
Received a sizable check from a real estate referral of over a year ago.

September 9, 2010
Dentist performed root canal, but, after digging around for an hour, could not find it and suggested I have another procedure by a specialist.

September 16, 2010
Another root canal by specialist had the same result.  He wants to do surgery October 22, to take care of the problem. I’m not sure I want to do this.  The infection has cleared up and I am feeling much better physically (after two round of antibiotics).  I am guessing this abscessed tooth has been the cause of my physical lack of strength and general run down condition all summer.  Now that I’m feeling better, I’m in no hurry to go under the knife.

About this same time, a very dear friend of mine was in and out of the hospital with sever sciatic nerve pain and I was very worried about her.

September 22, 2010
Took son’s car for repair which turned out to be a minor muffler problem at a cost of only $112.00.  Same day the city resurfaced our alley which had been full of pot holes for years.

September 26, 2010
Found out that my dear friend who had been in the hospital with sciatic pain passed over. She was only 65 years old.  T Jupiter was exactly opposite her N Jupiter 27 Virgo.  Her N Ascendant was 29 Virgo; Progressed Chiron was 29 Virgo; N Midheaven 29 Gemini. T Uranus was 28 Virgo. (Note: Barbara: My experience with demise charts indicates a strong Jupiter influence as if Jupiter is bringing them the freedom they desire.) T Pluto was at the bottom of her chart; Saturn transiting her First House conjunct her N Neptune; T Sun trine N Sun; T Moon opposite T Mars.  I will miss her very much.

September 27, 2010
Mammogram revealed nothing unusual in my right breast…a big relief.

I bought a new dishwasher which I had been wanting for a long time.

September 30, 2010
I am continuing to feel better physically and mentally every day.  Back to my old optimistic, Sagittarius self again.  Saturn has moved on from the opposition to my N Uranus and square to my N Mars…that’s a relief.

Can’t wait until Jupiter and Uranus turn Direct again in my First House.

Jupiter/Uranus waxes, Saturn/Pluto wanes, miners are free!

Thanks to global technology, it is possible for one extraordinary event to inspire the whole world.

Today, in the papers, on TV and across the Web, there is much reflecting on the unique safe rescue yesterday of all 33 miners from the San Jose mine in Chile. “Heartwarming”, “humbling”, “inspiring”, “extraordinary” are just some of the words being heavily drawn on today, as the world’s media considers the awe-inspiring story which has galvanised us all over the last few days.

Each of us will have a piece of the story which most powerfully strikes home. What is yours? Think about your horoscope….I have an exact Saturn/Pluto conjunction linked to several personal planets, all in the Twelfth House. But Tenth House Uranus is bi-quintile Third House Jupiter: prominent leading and closing planets in the bowl shape that is my birth chart.

So I am not unfamiliar in my small life with times of the grinding struggle of endurance against severe adversity, coupled with an inspired (and I hope inspiring!) ability to make innovative leaps of faith in overcoming at times dire circumstances. In a very tiny way, with the current Jupiter/Uranus Saturn/Pluto energy field triggering my horoscope strongly, I can find in the challenging but liberating process current in my own life, a personal link to the great struggle and eventual triumph which has inspired and humbled us all in recent days.

What must it have been like for these men to be trapped half a mile underground in sweltering heat and tropical humidity for seventeen days before the upper world knew they were alive? And what of their courage and discipline, given the desperate nature of such circumstances, in having the presence of mind to elect a leader to guide them? Yet they were able to choose a leader whose strong belief that rescue would come, and steadfast religious faith, was a sustaining plank. On this, they were able to construct the survival plan which saw them all survive sixty nine days of hell and emerge largely healthy and smiling, thanks also to an inspired and brilliantly executed rescue plan. I contemplate all this, and am awestruck.

Chilean Miners Triumph

http://learning.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/10/15/chile-y-el-mundo-connecting-the-chilean-miners-story-with-universal-themes/

A great gift of being a long-term practitioner of astrology is that small thunderbolts of awe continue to strike one from the Left Field, no matter how used one becomes to seeing planetary symbolism play out in practice on a regular basis! I find myself awestruck also by the appropriateness of the planetary symbolism in the Great Chilean Mine Escape story. Just reading through the above paragraph lets one see clearly the utterly different energies at work: the terrorising, grim, grinding, diamond-creating action of Saturn/Pluto – and the joyful “Show me a limit and I’ll blow it to smithereens to get to the light!” optimism, faith, creativity and innovative genius that is Jupiter/Uranus.

Many astrologers will currently be putting up charts for the exact times of various stages of the unfolding of this tale: check out Best Astrology Sites to review what other astrologers have to say.

As followers of this particular site will know by now, I tend to be happy these days with broad brush strokes. Firstly, I am interested in seeing and presenting the bold colours of the symbolism shining through the current planetary energy field, tracking its essential meaning – as I have been doing thus far.

Secondly, the cyclic nature of  planetary patterns is always fascinating and illuminating. This is the waning square of the Saturn/Pluto cycle which began in 1982/3 and peaked in 2001/2. It reached its first point of exactitude in mid-November 2009, its second end January/early February 2010. Its third came in mid-August 2010, just a few days after the miners’ ordeal began on 5 August when the San Jose mine collapsed. Sixty-nine days later as the miners are rescued, the pressure of Saturn/Pluto’s waning square is receding. The Underworld is relaxing its grip.

And what of Jupiter/Uranus? Its new 14-year cycle began on 8 June 2010 at the powerful degree of  0 Aries. Its second exact point took place on 19th September at 29 Pisces: the San Jose Mine rescue began in earnest two days before. Its third and final exact point is yet to occur: at 27 Pisces on 4 January 2011. By mid-March 2011 both planets will once again be in Aries, the conjunction will be out of orb by 10 degrees, and the energy of the new 14 year Jupiter/Uranus cycle can be said to be fully in forward motion. At the time of the rescue, the energy of this cycle is still establishing itself.

Jupiter/Uranus is coming into its full power: but Saturn/Pluto is receding. Faith, hope, and inspiration win. The grinding power of Saturn/Pluto has turned the miners into diamonds, whose toughness and courage got them through an ordeal which would have crushed lesser spirits. Thus we can see in the broad brush strokes of this tale both sides of Saturn/Pluto. And what of the shadow side of Jupiter/Uranus, so far presented in my account only in its bright face?

I think that shadow is represented by the mine owners. One of the dark signatures of  Jupiter/Uranus is breathtaking arrogance, conviction of one’s own rightness, thinking one is above the law – and that one can get away with murder, symbolically and literally. Many Chilean miners have perished in unsafe mines which should long have been closed down in recent years. The San Jose mine should not have been open: it was unsafe, and the owners must have known this. Let’s hope they will now be called to account….

Facebook meets Jupiter/Uranus at the 19 September cafe!

One week ago, I gave in – and joined Facebook.

Blame my friend and collaborator,  psychologist and independent thinker  Emily Cutts, currently co-writing “MoreBitsFallOff.com’ with me. It’s all her fault: she belongs to the Facebook generation! But I finally realised that insisting on building up a healthy following for my four-section magazine “Writing from the Twelfth House” as I had done, on word of mouth alone, was just perverse. So Emily pushed me gently – and I jumped in.

At present, my tenth house Mars conjunct Uranus is being squared by the current Jupiter/Uranus conjunction. Can this be having something to do with it? I wonder ingenuously.

I went from being Friendless to having fifty-nine Facebook Friends  – all in less than a week. One of the mutual Friends who came up had a fetching moon and stars image instead of a mugshot. I liked it, inviting its owner Kenneth Irving to become a Friend. He accepted – and sent me a message saying he had written a review of “Jupiter Meets Uranus”, my 2009 study of Jupiter/Uranus conjunctions, at the end of last year. I am really pleased with this entirely unexpected review, another to add to the collection of positive responses to my book. Thanks, Kenneth!

So – the left field of Jupiter/Uranus dynamism and unpredictability delivers yet again, as in this very small personal example. After many years as a student, practitioner and teacher of astrology – these days mostly as a writer – I continue to love hearing the great music of the spheres, being played throughout space and time, on the large mundane scale and the tiny personal scale by the planets in their cycles.

Here is the review.

“….Jupiter Meets Uranus is a thoughtful, well-researched book that does a good job of answering the question of
what the combination of Jupiter and Uranus means, and it does it in depth and in detail. Highly recommended….”

Waiting for 19th September: Jupiter meets Uranus: “Tales from the Wild Ride” Part Six

We are about to have the second exact conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus, at 29 degrees Pisces, on the 19th of September 2010. What will the energy field surrounding that point add to our already disrupted, fast-changing world – for both individual humans and the wider collective? Keep watching this space!!

In the meantime, I thought it would interest readers following the fortunes of the 12 participants ‘plugged-in” to the 2010/11 Jupiter/Uranus conjunctions, to see an edited selection of their ‘takes’ on events in our collective life during the April-June 2010 period of Phase One of the research.

The final question posed for Questionnaire 1 centred on
‘Our Collective Life’.

Despite my making clear that the 2010/11 research would – unlike the 1997 research I did  for “Jupiter Meets Uranus” – largely focus on personal life, the mundane astrologer in me could not resist asking questions about what the 12 participants had perceived the key issues to be during

a) April and May 2010 (the build-up period to the 8 June conjunction)
B) the first two weeks of June 2010.

I made the request pretty low-key, thus : “I realise that some of you may not wish to bother commenting on world affairs, but it would be interesting to get your brief take, if you feel so inclined!”

********************

Six out of twelve rated Period A) as very significant, three as moderately significant, one as not significant at all. Two gave no response.

Six out of twelve rated Period B) as very significant, one as moderately significant, two as mildly significant. Three gave no response.

********************

For Period A), unsurprisingly, two events were mentioned by everyone except  the person who thought nothing at all had happened of any significance during April and May 2010.

Subject Louis (60), UK, sums this up briefly and well. He also commented on the UK’s May general election result, a  first of its kind since the Second World War:

“ Icelandic volcano, BP’s Deepwater Horizon disaster were main headlines.

(Fiona (61) said about the latter: “ ….Made me feel absolute despair and rage and like the apocalypse was upon us all…”)

UK: Run up to a general election which returned a coalition government which is depressingly right wing with no interest in society or its progress.  A very serious issue in prospect for work as this government will most likely cut many worthwhile areas of public expenditure while supporting the rotten schemes of developers and their cronies.

In one sense the dark bubbling oil and the grey ash are similar in many ways to the coalition government.  Enveloping, disabling, suffocating….”

From the USA, Alicia (53) identified “….first iPads for sale in the USA, April 3rd.  Bound to revolutionize the laptop industry and the publishing industry (ebooks)….”

From Finland, Kathy(54) offered this comment: “….Several resignations in domestic politics resulting from a bribe scandal in connection of the parliamentary elections that was revealed already in 2009 and is still constantly in news. Also the head of the national TV’s news operation had to go as his wife is one of the people accused of taking bribes. This is big news here as Finland is always in the top 3 of the transparency international list of the least corrupted countries….” She also highlighted  an unusual scientific development: “….An interesting piece of news: A plasma brake to combat space debris: http://www.fmi.fi/news/index.html?Id=1271239224.html ….”

Jupiter Meets Uranus

Jupiter Meets Uranus

For Period B)

From the USA, Alicia (53) had this to say about the general mood in New York where she lives:  “….This isn’t an event, but I’m going to say it anyway because the effect was very pronounced.  Everyone around here was a nervous wreck.  (More than usual.) Irritable and touchy, rude, angry.  Driving safely was impossible.  It seemed to get back to ‘normal’ craziness levels by the third week of June….”

Julia (37), USA commented: “…. While some of the disasters of April and May were waning, they were being replaced by a steady stream of natural disasters and civil unrest. The period felt uneasy, as if problems that had been developing over time were revealing themselves….”

Diana (38) USA found the following event most significant, having considered that nothing of significance had occurred during the April/May period: “….It was announced around June 1-2 that Al and Tipper Gore were divorcing. To me this sounded like pure Uranian energy (as they had had such a long marriage)….”

Eve (51) USA observed that “….The only thing that dominated the TV was the BP oil spill and what was being done to help the situation.

I also keep an eye on the Congressional meetings taking place with the Postal  Regulatory Commission affecting the restructuring of the United States Postal Service.  It looks like the 5 day delivery proposal might be headed for the trash bin. Say it isn’t so, that means three more long years of work for me.  (no early out)….”

Maria (32) USA’s take: “….The NBA Finals, The World Cup, BP not being able to fix the leak, the Stock Market rollercoaster. I remember reading during this time someone’s opinion that sporting events are used by the powers that be to  distract people from what’s really going on in the world. I found it very interesting that the global
economic/money crisis kinda flew under the radar during The World Cup….”

Giorgio (28), currently in Iceland: “….In general, a collective mood of tension and instability. Diplomatic conflicts, war tensions, environmental worries, economical problems and corruption exposed. A time of big change continues…..”

Having said ‘very much so’ regarding the significance of world events during the April/May period, and like most people highlighting the Gulf Oil Spill, Harry (41), USA was disarmingly honest in his response to questions about Period B: “….I have no doubt a lot was happening in the world around me, but, in all honesty, I can’t think of anything in particular.  The Aries Sun in me was myopically focused on a growing opportunity overseas for my partner and I….”

Barbara (81), USA, had a brief, trenchant, all-purpose comment: “….Regarding Our Collective Life, I keep up on all current events, e.g., oil spill, government legislation, stock market ups and downs, but try not to let any of that upset me inasmuch as I have very little control over any of it….”

Whatever your views may be, I feel pretty sure you will agree with me that this piece of detail from Kathy (54) probably deserves the last word! “….The Free Thinkers of Finland organized an exchange event on June 4: they collected from the public Bibles and gave porn magazines in return….”

Relocation, relocation! Giorgio’s “Tales from the Wild Ride” Part 5

Initially there were 12 volunteers in this study. But one of them dropped out before sending in her feedback to  Questionnaire 1. So I gave her place last month to a man in his late 20s, “Giorgio”, whose chart appears below.

I then thought it would be useful for those of you following the fortunes of our 12 volunteers to have a look at an example of a whole questionnaire, using“Giorgio” ’s clear and succinct feedback to illustrate it. In this way, you can be brought ‘up to speed’ with this subject’s feedback for the April-June 2010 period: ie the build-up to, and the weeks bracketing the first phase of the 2010/11 Jupiter/Uranus conjunctions in Aries and Pisces. Here it is.

Research Study: Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Aries and Pisces 2010/11

(In responding to this questionnaire, please type in your replies preferably in black so that I can see them clearly. Please try to be reasonably economical in your responses! And disclose in detail only what feels comfortable to be published later on. eg you could write “health scare two days after the conjunction date. Reassured by test results ten days later when problem declared non-urgent” . This feedback would be useful for the research without giving any identifying details re what the problem was.)

Your comments on/summary of this time:

Past years felt stuck in my job. So last summer I applied for volunteering abroad. In January 2010 I was selected for a project. On April I “quit” my job (actually told my boss I’d took a half-year off). I traveled on 1st of May – this was a great shift in my life: everything looked so much anew, liberating and exciting. However I am now in a long-distance relationship with my fiancé.

Note: The past years have been pretty experimental since Uranus entered first house in 2000. As Neptune entered first house around 2004, I began feeling a yearning to become closer to nature (and drawn to artistic and spiritual activities). Everything changed in summer 2006 (Pluto transited my natal Sun). I felt stuck on my job, and so I moved abroad and developed new interests. In 2009, both Uranus and Saturn squared my natal Sun. I applied for volunteer abroad and in May 2010 I started my first project on a totally new field and in a wild nature location, finally fulfilling myself.

Your comments on/summary of the first two weeks of June 2010:

For 1 month in this new life chapter. Everything looks so different and exciting. Days of 2, 5-7 and 10-11 June were particularly intense. I’m volunteering in north Iceland and doing adventures in the Arctic Sea. An inner shift occurred: I realized I don’t want to return to the old job I had before.

Plumber came to repair sink in apartment. Cost: $300.

June 10, 2010
Alan’s computer in for repairs again.

June 22, 2010
Woke up with a severe upper-left jaw pain…lasted two days. Called Cardiologist for appointment.

June 23, 2010
Started an upper respiratory infection…head cold and coughing that lasted about two weeks. Had to carry on normal activities although I felt terrible.

June 24, 2010
Alan called me at 7:00 AM to tell me the ceiling fan in his living room had come loose and fallen during the night and was hanging by the cord. I couldn’t get in touch with my regular repairman, but did find someone to come and repair it later in the day.
By this time I was beginning to feel like Job from the Bible.

Very Much So
Your comments/summary on the first two weeks of June 2010:

I finally turned in my resignation form to my job of 10 years. In May, I had moved out of my apartment of 10 years as well, in preparation for a temporary move to Las Vegas. My former apartment manager told me to come pick up my deposit refund check. I was hoping it would be at least $500 but it turned out to be nearly $1350! That unexpected money was going to be a help in paying for my education program tuition of nearly $3000.

On June 12th I was introduced to a very intriguing man. He was very smart and that made him very attractive to me. I left so my friend and I could go to a  party. We got separated and I left the party and he was walking by as I exited the building. We began chatting when my friend was escorted out in a headlock and nearly arrested. We took her home and shared a cab ride.

After exchanging numbers he called me and we hung out a week later. He has not contacted me since. I admit, I was pretty much obsessed with him for a good two weeks after, wondering if I did or said something wrong. But I kept reading that the eclipse energy that hit my heavy Capricorn/Cancer chart was removing things from my life that weren’t for me so I finally let it go.

Very Much So

1-7 June 2010 Still on vacation till the 6th.  I Got a virus on my computer June 1st and I bought my Apple IMac on June 2nd.  I had been planning it for a while but the virus was the catalyst that sent me to the Apple store.  I spent the remainder of the week getting used to my new operating system.

June 7th was my first day back to work, very traumatic after a peaceful two weeks off.

8 June 2010 (the conjunction day): Nothing special this day.

9 -15 June  2010 Very hectic at work.  June 9th my cousin called and told me that my 84 year old aunt started to hallucinate and has been calling my both cousins ranting crazy stuff.   We wanted to take her to the emergency room but she didn’t want to go and wanted to wait for her doctor’s appt. the following Friday.  All seemed ok until June 17th when she called me, frantically hallucinating. I called my cousin to stay with her, she wasn’t much better, so we decided to take her to the ER to rule out stroke or brain tumor.  The ER released her and said it was mental rather than physical. She spent the weekend at my house until my other cousin from the west coast of Florida came over to stay with her.

Your comments/summary on the first two weeks of June 2010:

I found the first week in June very peaceful and the second week all hell broke loose.  Both work and my personal life were in overdrive and I had minimal sleep and was definitely running on empty.  I also had a huge blow up at work on the 18th and carried over to the 21st which I will get into on our next installment.

B) 1-7 June 2010 I noticed a lot of frenzied energy among my circle of friends in my normally sedate women’s poetry group.  An awful lot of bad health news among friends and acquaintances, including one shocking death of a Native American doctor who had “gone over to the dark side”.
C) 8 June 2010 (the conjunction day): I had a totally normal day going to the Bookmobile library where everybody was enormously and unusually social -despite my fears of driving there.

D) 9 -15 June On the 14th, I decided to abandon Septra and revert back to my homeopathic traing and do homeopathic treatment for myself. Lots more bad health news among friends and good news from granddaughter.  An extremely signifiant death of a friend on the 16th outside the dates given.

People won’t pay invoices on time, everything seems to be a hassle.  Strong feeling that the enjoyment has disappeared from my work though the interest in the subject if anything is growing stronger.  Happy to read and browse the web for inspiration – practicalities of work seem prosaic and mind-numbing.

Very much so

Research into psycho-sexual development ran apace the first two weeks, particularly regarding the Black Moon.  Am beginning to understand sexual development in a new way–have hit on a few new ideas and some new research in this area which runs contradictory to much current thinking, but is very much in keeping with what we know of the asteroids.

This period was very intense for me in terms of work (Uranus ruling sixth house).  Out of the blue I had more clients than I could handle, I took on more students, and I wrote every spare minute.  The whole period went by in a blur, and the only things I wrote in my journal were, “Exhausted, will write later.”

Definitely a physical burnout related to mental overload.  Slept deeply 10 (sometimes more) hours per night.  Muscle aches and inflammation related to peri-menopause exacerbated. (Natal Moon/Uranus conjunction again.) Starting to dream again, after a long non-dreaming period.

An odd thing happened on the 7th-8th.  A signed contract (7th house) once belonging to the object of my obsession became available at auction.  I now own it.  No one else bid for it, which is strange because the signature alone is worth something and the document in and of itself has historical interest.

Very much so

The period was not a pleasant one – if life remained as it was in that period I’d probably give up on it! I felt like I was caged, being held against my will in a restricted space and unable to fulfill my potential or assist others to fulfill their full potential.

I felt as if there was a battle raging, a battle between those who are compromised and disadvantaged, those without money and without power, and those empowered through their financial assets and the freedom that they bring. I felt as if the world’s wrong doers – the irresponsible, the uncaring, the selfish and the reckless were holding all the cards and that the only way to redress the balance was to outsmart them, to be nimble, quick-witted and bold – always keeping several paces ahead. I felt as if the situation was escalating and coming to a head – perhaps no time soon, but gaining momentum nonetheless.

1-7 June 2010

I can’t say I felt any great climax of events or any major shift between the 1st and the 7th June. The scenario was more a case of the pressures on me reaching a peak at the end of May and remaining constant at that level into early June.

The scale of the challenges didn’t reduce in size and instead continued to escalate. However, what became apparent in June was a matching of strength – as the powers working against me became stronger, the powers working in my favour dramatically increased in size.

8 June 2010 (the conjunction day):

Nothing notable happened events wise on the 8th June – though the evening of the 7th June was a real low point and a time when I felt utterly despondent, but emotionally I was starting to feel more empowered that day (i.e. I went to bed the night before thinking I may as well give up and woke up thinking ‘what the hell, I’m not giving up now and I’ll give this one last go’). There were no significant meetings or conversations that day, but I was generally feeling more upbeat than in May, as I was starting to see the overall shape of my situation improve and realised that while there were temporary obstacles, the long-term picture was becoming positive.

9 -15 June

This was a period of extreme ups and downs. I usually keep things on a fairly even keel, but it was impossible to do this during this period. The scale and potential of the opportunities being presented to me during this period by far outstripped any of my past and illustrated the benefits of sticking with my plans. One thing that was in no doubt was the esteem in which I’m held and with which my project is regarded.

However, at the other end of the spectrum, my situation was becoming increasingly difficult in the short-term. Financially the first 6 months of 2010 have been absolute hell and having gradually got worse across March, April and May, things became no better in June, for while medium to long term opportunities were presenting themselves left, right and centre, in the short term nothing at all was coming through. I felt as if carrots were being dangled, just out of reach, at a time when I’m financially starving and can’t hold out any longer.

Again, what became apparent was that an ‘all or nothing’ attitude was needed – taking risks and being brave. Had I reverted back to old ways of doing things and gone into reverse, all the groundwork I’d been doing since early 2009 would have been undermined….. I decided to carry on battling away to achieve my aims, even though I risked losing absolutely everything to do this and there was no certainty that the taking risk would work in my favour.

Your comments/summary on the first two weeks of June 2010:

Emotionally the thing that kept me going during this period was the opportunities lining themselves up to roll out from October 2010 onwards. The period was, like March, April and May, extremely stressful and full of many low points at which I wondered how on Earth I’d overcome the obstacles before me.

However, not one, but several incredible opportunities were introduced to me at this time and though I was very conscious that I was ‘up against it’ I was also aware that some very powerful allies were working away to help me – opening doors for me, giving me encouragement and flying the flag for my project. I felt a little like a Premier League football player flanked by a large entourage of bodyguards, as he made his way through a riotous crowd of fans from his opposing team throwing insults and missiles in his direction.

Jupiter-Uranus oo Aries conjoined my natal IC oo Aries 58, triggering deep issues about emotional safety, security, wellbeing, belonging… old feelings of abandonment surfaced. I experienced deep depression, lifelessness, isolation, and withdrawal.

…… paternal abandonment is a family theme……. The anxieties I experienced May 28-June 6 were related to birthing and infancy.

Mars, ruler of natal 4th is in a separating conjunction with natal Moon in Scorpio

June 11- 15

I re-established contact with friends, and feeling less isolated my abandonment anxieties calmed. This was the beginning of the ending of a significant relationship that I had expectation of becoming an intimate romance. Familiar, family related, feelings of disappointment and betrayal surfaced.

April – June I had, and continue to have, many thoughts and feelings about where and with whom I belong in life. Relationships with dear friends are in transition and I am gaining a more clear perspective of my worth and value.

My struggle is separating from my past and finding the courage to break free move with self assurance and confidence into a creative, new present.

Sent an ultimatum along the lines “we marry or nothing” to my love interest on 2 June. Realised that my not-so-soft- spoken Mercury was on overdrive, probably helped along by the square from Pluto. No filters in speech nor any niceties. Realized a need for self-discipline with my mouth if not willing to lose all my friends by the time the influence of these transits will be over.

On the day of the conjunction two Buddhist monks in orange robes were chatting below the balcony of the friend with whom I travelled to Barcelona. Her comment: “Now I have seen it all”.  A very unusual thing to happen in her life and in her environment.  Find this incident hilariously funny.

9-15 June organizing the Odyssey. Endless e-mails and calls. Promises and threats. Love and hate in turns. Ended up being called Kirki .

Mentally very tense weeks.

Reconnected intimately with a guy I dated and was very obsessed with. Went together to a book launch event and after-party in West Hollywood.

9-15 June:
A truly emotionally horrible (meltdown) period begins and hits a boiling point.

Your comments/summary on the first two weeks of June 2010:

-The amazing events invitations continued with one on the Paramount Studios backlot, another a  free dinner at a high end restaurant.
-Was building a friendship with a guy I dated last year (it ended quickly and badly) from March through the Jupiter/Uranus period. We started to get closer platonically, had an indiscretion June 8, he went back to being distant claiming he only wanted a friendship.
-At the same time, a major falling out with one of my best friends–a guy I’ve known since high school (same issue: distance and emotion)
-Same weekend got stood up by a guy I was lightly dating–which strangely sent me into a tailspin.
Most difficult period: weekend of June 11-13

NOTE: Around the time of the June 26 eclipse I felt a major energy pull–breakdown, issues with my work, flea infestation in my house, rethinking being a homeowner, etc.

I will be giving them a couple of ‘special focus’ dates to comment on, eg 26.6.10 when a lunar eclipse occurred at 5 deg Capricorn which is just at the ‘outer limits’ of the orb range for the study but may well have produced some notable effects.)

All comments/shared experiences most welcome! If you have enjoyed this installment of the Tales from the Wild Ride, it would be great if you could send the link around your networks, so that as many people as possible can follow the series and see ‘astrology in action’!
