Research Study:Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Aries and Pisces 2010/11

As in Questionnaire One, I decided to conclude Questionnaire Two, covering the period Summer Solstice to Autumnal Equinox 2010, by asking the 10 remaining researchees for any comments they felt like making on our collective life.

Firstly, I asked them  “Did you notice anything significant in your own country/the wider world during this time?”

The general atmosphere of upset, disrupt and change continues, albeit to a more subtle degree. This was not so evident now in global affairs as it was during spring 2010. However, significant disruption and change were clearly evident in many people around me. Finally, there were also widespread weather extremes.

Maria (32):

When I got back home, I was trying to sign up for healthcare online.
My payment would not go through, something was wrong with the site.
So, I put it to the side. Weeks later I came across an article
detailing Obama’s Healthcare Bill and that the plan was to go into
effect September 23rd.

As a believer in LOA, I immediately thought to
myself that’s why my payment didn’t go through so I could reap the
benefits of the bill that I wouldn’t have got if I had gotten a plan
prior to the 23rd.

Noticed the bed bug epidemic going on across the
country.

Also, got back home and became aware of some of the ballot
initiatives to be voted on in November.

Read about the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China)
and how they may create their own currency
leaving the dollar in the dust and how Mexico is recovering from the
Recession better and faster than the United States.

All the while
people are going bonkers over Border Patrol and immigration laws.

Harry (41) :

President Obama continued in his struggle to communicate effectively with the American People, the Democrats continued in their struggle to be effective, the Tea Party continued their march toward the Midterm Elections in November, and there seemed to be an increase in people “snapping” and doing harm to others.

In addition, there seemed to be a rise worldwide in plane crashes, hostage situations, bombings, and kidnappings.  The weather here in the States — as well as elsewhere — has been extreme with severe floods, hurricanes, and even a tornado touching down in Brooklyn and ripping up trees and tossing over cars!

The whole Gulf oil mess was finally resolved.

High Government officials and scientist admit some UFO data can not be explained and is down right “Spooky”.Stephen Hawking’s new book stating “GOD” unnecessary for Grand Design. Alien life out there and you may not want to contact them.

New Zealand earthquake, Pakistan floods, US pulls out of Iraq.

The political climate here is rougher than usual.  There seems to be more and more polarization—left against right, Democrats against Republicans.  Extremism is the order of the day, and the so-called Tea Party candidates (extreme right) are gaining ground.  There is a definite movement to oust Obama, probably the most effective and intelligent president we’ve had this century.

It seems as though reason and compromise have gone out the window, which one would expect with a conjunction in Aries.  Political emotions are running high. Jupiter ties to the 9th house and law, and Uranus, regards the collective—I would have expected some progressive legislation to have taken place, but there is none on the horizon.  We’re going backwards.

Aside from that, I’ve been too busy dealing with the fallout of my own Jupiter/Uranus activity to notice what’s going on around me.

In news on 21 June: A blast of the brightest X-rays ever detected from beyond our Milky Way galaxy’s neighborhood temporarily blinded the X-ray eye on NASA’s Swift space observatory earlier this summer, astronomers now report. The X-rays traveled through space for 5-billion years before slamming into and overwhelming Swift’s X-ray Telescope on 21 June.

On July 30, there was a massive thunder storm in Finland. It left tens of thousands of Finns without electricity and telephone lines, some for weeks (and we are supposedly living in one of the technologically most advanced countries on earth). The forest fell like tooth picks.

Also the hottest ever summer in Helsinki, the hottest in 70 years country-wide. The heat started with the summer solstice and lasted almost non-stop until mid-August.

I usually read the papers faithfully, but in this time period I stopped reading them completely.  I did notice the Chilean miners’ drama and its cheerful resolution.

A lot of divisive rhetoric in the US concerning Congress and the upcoming November elections and worldwide unrest due to economic climate.  I don’t know what the answer is, but it is worrisome.

This entire period enriched my life, not always in gentle ways, with themes of value and self worth……. I was challenged to seek a deeper understanding of what I value in myself, others, and in life.

Lunar eclipse at 5 deg Capricorn 26.6.10 – GMT
This eclipse was approaching a conjunction with my natal Chiron, 07.42 Capricorn, in the second house sign in the first triggering familiar, and familial, themes of self-worth and my habit to under value myself.

I had a shocking surprise when a dear friend whom I consider family challenged my self worth and oddly rather than crumbling with self doubt, I accepted our differences about what my time and talent is worth and put forth a very conscious effort NOT to damage our 30 year friendship by challenging her behavior toward me… our friendship has definitely changed, I have become more separate and mature, less in need of her approval or willing to follow her standard of behavior, and I am no longer expecting her unconditional help, something that I assumed would always be a part of my life experience.

A period of sobering realities.

The week of August 5, Venus entering Libra and crossing my 10th/4th natal axis, my relationship with my mother was challenged and rather than getting angry and feeling hurt I accepted her behavior toward me, her not including me in family gatherings, and consciously decided NOT to fight with her or challenge her behavior with me – similar themes with my best friend 2 weeks earlier, the week of July 26 when Saturn opposed Uranus.

I also saw with more realistic eyes the dynamics of my romantic interests with a man who was flirting with me without serious interest…. And again, to accept his behavior and NOT damage our friendship and while the terms of our friendship have changed and we are not in as close communication as before, we have maintained a friendship………

Each of these experiences a maturing passage that has helped me separate from other people’s values and influences upon how I value myself.

Much needed maturing which I feel grateful for.

During this period I have gone back in time, working in a profession I left in 1994. The work is creative but challenging to old habits of feeling hyper responsible for making sure that NOTHING goes wrong which is unrealistic and crazy making…  I have under-valued my contribution and participation in the project, an old pattern needing to be broken, which Uranus transiting my natal 4th promises!

A period of a deepening sense of my worth.

September 19 began a week of horrors that brought a newly found and comforting insight that I prefer NOT to have the responsibility of ownership, enjoy living as a nomad, and that rather than pathologize my choices in life that I need to cultivate a community of like minded souls……. I struggle to understand the hows and wheres of this recent insight but confident that with time I will see a clear path to follow.

My mind and heart pointed toward service and I am currently looking into joining the Peace Corps as a possibility… to be continued.

September 19  Jupiter-Uranus conjunction Rx in Pisces:

I feel liberated from my past. Deepened resolution about living as a nomad without a home or property of my own. I returned to my roots 6 months ago , near the time of the first conjunction, and realized that I do not have the same values as I once had…… I am not interested in having a home or being part of a particular tribe…. in fact, I feel a free spirit in the universe not belonging in one particular place. I have felt alone and isolated most of my life never really fitting into the situations that I was living.
Observing more than participating.
I feel liberated and centered within myself. I have a deepened self-acceptance. I am trying not to compare myself to old standards which have lost value in my life.
I have stopped looking over my shoulder for that elusive someone to save me…….. I am my own savior, Neptune in Aquarius opposing my natal Mercury in Leo, and I feel an inner strength to forge a life that reflects self-honesty. I am interested in meeting others who live as I live; without home or family, comfortable to travel to unfamiliar places, working in service for others.
I am not interested in personal ambition, success, or reward.

At times I feel fear not knowing how to organize my life in this way – it feels very foreign – which is both exciting and terrifying.

Really nothing of note that might be relevant to me personally – I have a close friend who was diagnosed with cancer of the brain on 24 July. (Saturn entered Libra 22.7.10).

I had a recurrence of a thyroid problem on 5 August but this is not a particularly significant date as set out above

Really very little happening at all – struggling to get work but that’s normal – so having difficulty implementing the dream (haha)

It’s all been rather cataclysmic.  Among my close friends and relatives I have one with breast cancer in situ.  Another, at whose house my closest friends and I have been meeting to read poetry for 15 years, lost her father, and her job and was forced to move abruptly. I miss this major source of comfort and solace terribly as the replacement venue is not intimate and comforting.

Our co-grandfather (our pregnant grand daughter’s other grand father) had an aortic dissection which proved inoperable at the same time that my daughter’s father started to die.  Our co grand father did survive with medication. My daughter’s father died September 26 leaving his estate in a terrible mess which will cost a fortune in money and acrimony to sort out.

My husband had various health scares as I did myself. In addition to falling off the roof of the house he was working on and getting his truck stuck in a ditch, he had mysterious intestinal troubles requiring a Ct scan that turned out clear.  His disorder responded quickly to antibiotics.  His exact Mercury conjunct Neptune, which rules his chart, is exactly opposite the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction.  Many money shocks and troubles.

I have a dear friend who disappeared and left her husband of 40 years – to my and his distress.  She doesn’t have a birth time sadly, but surely Jupiter and Uranus is involved.  Another very good friend is being sued for $800,00 in an incomprehensible lawsuit.

Now we have an alcoholic nephew who has crashed his truck and broken his back whom we must now arrange care for.  Much family drama about this.

It really seemed like an awful lot of extreme alcoholic drinking took place in this time period some of which led to fatalities.

When Jupiter retrograded on my MC exactly, all my recent clients disappeared immediately , for which I was not sorry, having so much on my plate.

Generally a very Piscean, messy, dramatic, painful time.

Annual appointment with GYN doctor…he felt unusual lumps in right breast, the same breast I had a lumpectomy on in 2006.

August 20, 2010 (T Mercury Rx)

About an hour after Mercury Rx, my son ran over a battery in the road with his car.  Not having the money to get it fixed (did not even get an estimate of the damage) and wouldn’t want to under Rx Mercury anyway, his car stayed in the garage and I had to drive him back and forth to work whenever I needed to go somewhere during the day.  A big inconvenience.

Started feeling pain in eye tooth.

Left eye and cheek swollen. Ulcers acting up due to all the pain medicine I had been taking since Thursday.  Dentist diagnosed abscessed tooth and prescribed antibiotics and strong pain medicine. He recommended having root canal procedure.

So sick I had to have my daughter come over and fix my meals. Swelling didn’t go down until Thursday, September 2, 2010 when antibiotics started to take affect.

Received a sizable check from a real estate referral of over a year ago.

Dentist performed root canal, but, after digging around for an hour, could not find it and suggested I have another procedure by a specialist.

Another root canal by specialist had the same result.  He wants to do surgery October 22, to take care of the problem. I’m not sure I want to do this.  The infection has cleared up and I am feeling much better physically (after two round of antibiotics).  I am guessing this abscessed tooth has been the cause of my physical lack of strength and general run down condition all summer.  Now that I’m feeling better, I’m in no hurry to go under the knife.

About this same time, a very dear friend of mine was in and out of the hospital with sever sciatic nerve pain and I was very worried about her.

Took son’s car for repair which turned out to be a minor muffler problem at a cost of only $112.00.  Same day the city resurfaced our alley which had been full of pot holes for years.

Found out that my dear friend who had been in the hospital with sciatic pain passed over. She was only 65 years old.  T Jupiter was exactly opposite her N Jupiter 27 Virgo.  Her N Ascendant was 29 Virgo; Progressed Chiron was 29 Virgo; N Midheaven 29 Gemini. T Uranus was 28 Virgo. (Note: Barbara: My experience with demise charts indicates a strong Jupiter influence as if Jupiter is bringing them the freedom they desire.) T Pluto was at the bottom of her chart; Saturn transiting her First House conjunct her N Neptune; T Sun trine N Sun; T Moon opposite T Mars.  I will miss her very much.

I am continuing to feel better physically and mentally every day.  Back to my old optimistic, Sagittarius self again.  Saturn has moved on from the opposition to my N Uranus and square to my N Mars…that’s a relief.

Can’t wait until Jupiter and Uranus turn Direct again in my First House.

I have noticed that some of the dates differ on exact transit times because I live in another country with another time zone.  I will use my dates. (Thanks for mentioning that, Eve. Since I have several different time zones to deal with, I have used GMT time zone for the UK for all of them. I am sure that readers will bear that in mind.)

On June 16th my cousin informed me we were having more trouble with my 84 year old aunt.  She was really hallucinating and having a hard time finding reality.  We went to the emergency to make sure she wasn’t having a stroke.

June 17th I was having a angry day at work, with a bad attitude, due to company restructuring and workload increases. I have grown very weary of our leadership, and have no patience anymore with all the BS.

June 18th-June 20th I had my aunt stay at my house so my cousin could get a break.

June 21st. Worst rebellious day yet at work.  I finally lost it with all the government hypocrisy.  Let’s just stay, I took an unpopular stand, exposed hypocrisy with my handy Iphone camera and emailed it to the powers that be.  SHIT HIT THE FAN! I angered management and some co-workers. Relationships were strained to say the least.

July 2nd co-workers continued to be hostile to me and to others.  The crumbling of our industry has pitted co-worker against co-worker and today it was another co-worker day to Go Postal! I believe this event is what lead to the changing of leadership, which was temporary anyway.

July 8th. I angered another co-worker who was a friend.  Management seemed to be throwing her a lifeline, while deciding to stick it to the rest of us.  I had no problem with that, only I had much more seniority then her and could simply out bid her.  The choice was, to save myself, I had to screw a friend.  That was a choice, I did not want to make. I knew that If I told everyone that I was taking her job, they wouldn’t repost it and things would remain the same.  I must admit, I was angry and probably should have kept my mouth shut and went directly to her.  Instead I mouthed off and she got the “Ugly” version from some back stabbers.   She became enraged that I would use my rights and my seniority to outbid her because she was a friend. We made up on July 19th after not speaking for a few weeks.

July 12th We got a new Temporary Boss.

July 13th – July 15th Went to training for other aspects of work.

July 28th- July 29th Carpal tunnel in both hands acting up again.

August 16th -August 18th Sometime during these days my shoulder had gotten injured and on August 18th I did not go to work.  Doctor ordered no lifting, no stretching, (not that I could anyway)

August 20th MRI

August 25th Dr. gave me a shot of cortisone to help inflammation.
(I won’t go into detail as you have read my blog as to how the injury occurred) (A.W. note: this is a fascinating example of astrological symbolism playing out in real life – check it out!)

Sept 2nd I started physical therapy to try and get my range of motion back in my shoulder/arm.  This is still continuing until I return to work.

Sept 14th back to the Doctor for follow up.  Ordered off work until Oct. 6th.

Sept 18th was our Jupiter/Uranus conjunction.  I posted an article as you know and It was the most traffic to my site since it’s inception.  In fact since the first conjunction, the traffic on my blog has gone up 3,000 percent.

During my time off I have had a shift in consciousness an “Eureka” moment so to speak.  I was watching a TV show on prisoners.  They were saying how long time convicts have a hard time readjusting to the outside world because they have been “institutionalized”.  I sat there a moment and realized that this has happened to ME.  Thirty years of a government job has left ME “institutionalized.”

I saw another program and it showed 16 beagles that were rescued from a testing lab.  They have known nothing but their cages all their life. When they were let out, it was only to be TESTED ON.  I saw the fear in their eyes, as each one ventured out of their cages, to the first taste of freedom and love in their life!

I was hesitant about taking any previous early retirement offers from my job because of fear.  Fear that I have known of no other way to make a living.  Fear that I will have to live on less. Fear that I will make a bad choice. But I know, that if I face the fear, I will find freedom.  Now I only have to wait for another early out offer and I will be on my true path.  I think I won’t have to wait too long, as we are losing money at an accelerated pace.

I am still hoping for “THE CAGE DOOR TO OPEN” on my last conjunction, If not, I have three LONG YEARS of testing left.

The conjunction occurs in my seventh house, opposite my chart ruler, Mercury, which also rules my MC.

My 20 year old niece (represented by my 7th house, the fifth from the third) who has Mars in Libra at 1 degree, was rushed to hospital and spent the month of July going to the brink of death and then just as suddenly coming back again.  She did this 4 times.  A medical miracle.

My father, who had Mars at 5 Libra, passed away suddenly on August 13th.  His Mars was conjunct my Mercury, the ruler of my 10th (father).  The fact that I have Jupiter conjunct the Sun and Uranus conjunct the Moon, and the rulers of both the 10th and 4th affected by the conjunction—well, I should have expected upheavals in the parental axis.

Pluto certainly played its role in the transiting square.

Most of my energy all this period went on building/re-building/demolishing/re-building my Vertex relationship (Vertex at 1 Capricorn conj. Lunar eclipse 26.6.10).  This is him with the Sun/Moon Midpoint at 29 Pisces 53.

This is not what I expected from the transits. (Note A.W: as Liz Greene said: “If you can predict it, it isn’t Uranus!”) I thought they would bring career changes (9th house Mercury and Sun at 1 Aries/9 Aries) in preparation of the Jupiter and Uranus transits through the 10th. Although the blog on 9th house themes I started last year in September is doing well, I realize now it is the “fatal encounters” producing Vertex at 1 Capricorn which is the most active spot in my chart.

On July 3rd in Crete, out of the blue, met a person I had met once before: in February 1977 in Mallorca, Spain. The meeting took place because I happened to be in Crete (1st time since 1985) and I happened to be with Vertex who had a business meeting with this person.  Talk about “co-incidences”. The funny thing was that we both felt like we had found a long-lost friend or sister or something.

When Saturn entered Libra (22.7.10) found myself booking a trip to Cyprus although finances were already low after the two weeks’ Greek Odyssey in the first half of the month. Real 9th house Jupiter extravaganza!

When Saturn moved exactly opposite Uranus (0 deg Libra/Aries) (26.7.10)
I found myself in a very bad mood. Irritable, dark, angry, depressed. Not at all like the usual sunny and overly optimistic rising Leo with Jupiter attached to the ASC. Realized that Mars+ Saturn conjunction (30.7.2010) did not only oppose my Mercury at Aries Point but was also in semisquare to my 4th house Moon and my ASC. No wonder. Ended up having a very long passive-aggressive e-mail exchange with Vertex.

Nephew into hospital 11 – 12 August with a very severe epileptic seizure.  Was in constant contact with my sister for 48 hours (Saturn transiting through my 3rd house).

In Cyprus 13-20 August.

When Uranus retrograded back into Pisces (15.8.10) saw my first ever shooting star. Unfortunately we also had very bad news regarding the health of the husband of best friend in Cyprus (he has Jupiter at 1Aries in 4th house, Saturn at 27 Virgo in 10th, Chiron at 3 Capricorn in 1st house and rising Sag).

The ex from Tunis of a dear friend of mine whom she hasn’t seen for 8 years, suddenly surfaced. He had gone to a lot of trouble to find out her whereabouts; she moved back to Finland 5 years ago. Now he’s going to fly over for a visit. She has her Moon in the 7th at 1°9’ Aries and her Pluto at 2°48’ Libra is in 1st house. I had been wondering why nothing extraordinary was happening in her life with such transits.

On 2 September had a call from my ex employer asking me to do an intercultural communication training for their new staff.  Used to do trainings for them before but not for the past year. Happy to do something that is the real me (with my 9th house Sun and my 9th house Mercury at Aries Point).

From 5 September onwards so busy dreaming the nights away that woke up exhausted in the mornings.

When the Sun was at the last degree/s of Virgo just before moving into Libra (23.9.2010) I had an oncoming migraine attack for several days (I do not suffer from migraine). Obviously crossed wires in the brain because Uranus/Jupiter conjunct natal Mercury and the Sun opposed them all.

Overall a very restless and busy three-month- period. Am exhausted and would like to go into the bedroom, close the door and sleep for several weeks non-stop.

Jupiter/Uranus’ disruption continues: Part 7: more Tales from the Wild Ride

I am pleased to say that 75% of my original twelve research subjects have now returned their responses to Questionnaire Two. (Still not too late, the missing 25%!) This is a good return for ongoing research from which there is always a  drop-out rate. Background: after years of feeling stuck in my job, I finally decided to quit and go abroad volunteering. However, this is a temporary experience between May and September 2010, so I am looking for what might come next.

The time between June and September was then spent in Iceland. As of 21st June, I received two new opportunities that I promptly applied; the following two days, I had difficult situations within my work group, and also my relationship.

First two weeks of July I traveled extensively, in one of my greatest life adventures (as Uranus retrogrades into Pisces). For instance, I hiked the Icelandic volcano. Strikingly, when Saturn entered Libra, 22nd July, I started having a major relationship crisis which lasted the 2 weeks of the cardinal climax! It was a very intense time!!

Curiously, a repetition of this happened again in the days surrounding the 23rd September equinox. We are very gradually figuring out which paths to follow in life, making personal revolutions in our future directions.

One last conclusion: the decision to follow this exciting and liberating adventure was amazing; I lived a epic summer of joy, but marked with several deep perspective shifts in the aforementioned dates. Maybe in Aries fashion, it marks a departure from conventional living, and creating my own individual unique path. But grasping futuristic trends, for instance we are thinking of an eco-village…..

I believe Jupiter/Uranus was hitting my South Node (2nd House) while Saturn was on my North Node (8th house).Chiron/Neptune inconjunct my North Node and the Moon squaring my nodes several times during this period.

Also, had the Cancer eclipse on my Jupiter/Sun. Four days after my last day at work was my birthday. Had a nice dinner with friends was surprised by a few people showing up, felt very loved.

Next day moved out of state for six weeks to do an accelerated academic program. Barely slept as I was socializing and completing complicated assignments almost daily. Got one of the top scores in class. Felt as though I made lifelong friends while in the program.

Received my retirement payout from my old job. Never had so much money in my whole life.

Immediately began to feel paranoid that I was gonna spend it all in a month or something ridiculous. Began to look for an apartment. Found a perfect one by
happenstance in a completely different neighborhood than I was looking for. Was told by the manager that it was promised to a current tenant. Got a call several days later that the tenant decided to stay in their original apartment and that the apartment was mine if I still wanted it. Went to several “celebrity” parties and met some celebrities,  all of whom seemed very down to earth which I was not expecting.

Put out feelers to volunteer in my new field to get experience and was offered a
job on the spot that requires a lot of responsibility. A completely unexpected incidence of unprotected sex broughtincidence of unprotected sex brought on by heavy social drinking. I was not depressed, just out having a good time with
friends. Highly disturbing once I sobered up because I’m usually VERY
responsible. Forced me to refocus on being in control and responsible for my sexual health (possibility of pregnancy, disease, etc.) and my drinking behavior AT ALL TIMES. Not going to be intimate with anyone again until I receive a clean bill of health. Some other (2nd house/8th house) craziness has gone
down in the last few days but it happened after the Equinox so I look forward to the next questionnaire!

Harry Aged 41

After making travel plans during the last week in June 2010(during the Lunar Eclipse period), my partner — a 7 Libra Sun — traveled to Zurich in July, during the week of the Solar Eclipse at 19 Cancer (conjunct my partner’s Progressed Mars, ruler of his 9th House), in fact, to interview for a job.  At the same time, two other law firms here in the States met with him, liked him and quickly offered him positions.
On 29th July, as Mars prepared to move into Libra, the Zurich law firm stepped up and offered him a Partner position.  As those planets moving into Libra are in opposition to my Aries Sun/North Node — indicating a situation not of my creation forcing me to adjust and make changes –, that this would be happening because of my Other Half makes sense.

He received the official Work Contract on 5th August, was welcomed aboard officially via company email on the 9th, and the immigration process — as we’ll be moving to Switzerland because of this — was started on 20th August.

We then learned today (23 Sept), after an initial delay with the paperwork — Hello, Mercury Retrograde! — that his Work Permit should be approved within a month with our Visas following soon thereafter, probably within two weeks.  And then we’ll be set to make the Big Move!
